Are You Ready for a “FRESH START”? Then you’ve come to the right place. Fresh Start for Women is a faith-based organization founded in 2004 dedicated to seeing women live successfully in communities free from domestic violence, abuse and sexual assault.  Need help! You’ve made the first step on a journey that will propel you from victim to victor.

The mission of Fresh Start for Women is to empower and renew the lives of women through workshops, seminars, retreats, job training, and counseling in order to facilitate the healing process, break the cycle of violence and develop healthy relationships. Fresh Start for Women is designed to rebuild the self-esteem of women spiritually, physically and emotionally while encouraging wiser life choices through our Signature Programs. Fresh Start for Women along with dedicated professionals and volunteers gently guide women through their journey of self-evaluation on the road to rediscovering their hopes and dreams.

Fresh Start for Women sets the stage for women to be positive role models for their children both male and female as well as the community in which she lives. A successful FRESH START” woman exemplifies those qualities that will draw to her respect and honor for she truly is a Divine Creation.

Fresh Start for Women also provides the opportunity for teen girls to explore their own identity as young women, students, daughters and future leaders by facilitating open discussions on peer pressure, abstinence, self-esteem and team building & mentoring activities in the “You Are a Precious Jewel program.

Our Goals

*To reduce the effects of domestic violence, abuse, rape, broken marriages and sexual assault among women in our community.

*To serve as role models of the endless possibilities regardless of current circumstances.

*To provide a safe and supportive environment where women come together to share their experiences, fears, joys, hopes and dreams.

Did you Know . . .

  • Every 15 seconds in the United States a woman or child is injured due to Domestic violence.

  • Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 & 44 in the United States.

  • On average more than 130 people are killed per year in the State of Georgia due to domestic violence

Fresh Start for Women needs You! Your donation will help us provide a life changing experience to women who would not have this opportunity otherwise. Each woman’s life that you touch with your donation makes our community a stronger, healthier place. As a leader in the community you will be further recognized as an advocate for these women who often have no one to help them. One such woman who was helped was Mary M. Mary attended one of our intense weekend retreats.

By happenstance she met the founder in a doctor’s office. Somehow she felt safe enough to share some of her story and was invited to attend the retreat free of charge. On the first night Mary barely said a word, eventually she shared how her husband had so isolated her that she didn’t realize how out of touch she was with her large loving family. As a result of the mental and verbal abuse she began to feel that she had no value, not to herself or her children. But when the abuse became physical and included her children she knew t was time to take that leap of faith and get out. Although nervous, scared and still intimidated she ever so slowly made plans to leave. In her case leaving meant out of state. She found herself in Georgia where she knew no one. By the evening of the second day Mary was ready to forgive herself and make a real effort to reclaim her full life. The many exercises she participated in gave her self-confidence a needed boost. She left that weekend with tangible plans for a new Mary; it included school and following a passion she’d long allowed to lay unfulfilled. That was in 2006. Today, Mary not only has a job she has a career, a loving relationship with her children and a rewarding spiritual life. Mary is a regular devoted volunteer and loves to tell people, “I truly got a Fresh Start when I attended the retreat - volunteering is my way of giving back.”
